At the moment I am only figuring out where and how to collect data. There are the national Statistical websites about trade of goods, and there is https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat .
But when I know how much cacao beans are transported from Côte d'Ivoire to to the Netherlands by boat,
how much are redirected to other European countries, and how much dutch chocolate products are exported around the world, I still do not know where these beans exactly came from.
It's like the box with "Spanish" almonds our baker uses. When the Californian almonds are cheaper than the Spanish ones, the Spanish trader might mix them all together in one box.
